Vehicles required for safe tourism in Sylhet

TEA HEAVEN RESORT (SREEMANGAL): Sreemangal police station officer-in-charge (OC) M Mahbubur Rahman said local administration has a shortage of vehicles to provide security to the tourists.

He came up with the assertion while addressing a daylong discussion, organized by online newsportal Banglanews24.com at Tea Heaven Resort in Sreemangal on Sunday (July 24), on prospects and problems of tourism in Sylhet division.

Earlier, the program started with the welcome speech by Banglanews editor-in-chief Alamgir Hossain around 10:00am.

Later, senior output editor Zakaria Mondol and assistant output editor Ashif Aziz presented the reports published by banglanews on Sylhet tourist spots using a projector after presenting the theme song of Banglanews.

Civil aviation and tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon is present here as chief guest.

With Alamgir Hossain in the chair, additional deputy commissioner Mohammad Mashooqur Rahman Sikder, senior assistant super of Moulvibazar tourist police AKM Mosharraf Hossain, Sreemangal upazila nirbahi officer (acting) Biswajit Kumar Paul, Tea Heaven Resort managing director Sultan M Idris Ledu and director Abu Siddique Mohammad Musa and Sreemangal Inn’s chairman M Sayed Ali have attended the discussion.

Besides, Sreemangal Press Club general secretary M Idris Ali, district unit general secretary of Workers’ Party Sikandar Alim, Sreemangal Union Parishad chairman Bhanulal Roy, Climate-Resilient Ecosystems and Livelihoods (CREL) communication officer Obaidul Fatah and high-ups of local administration, forest department, and representatives of tourism related government and non-government organizations also are present here.

Earlier on July 22 (Friday), Banglanews organized a discussion of tourism experts at Tea Heaven Resort.
