AGARTALA, KOLKATA: Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Agartala of Tripura underscored the need to introduce online railway ticket for foreigners in a bid to boost tourism of Bangladesh.
Assistant High Commissioner Md Shakhawat Hossain, in an exclusive discussion with Banglanews at his Agartala office, put emphasis also on quota system for foreigners like different countries, including India, to avail rail tickets easily through online.
In spite of a student of Pharmacy department of Dhaka University, he has coped nicely with this new world of High Commissioner.
Being the first High Commissioner, Shakhawat has taken many effective measures by this time. He has also decorated his office according to his choice.
Since he likes to travel, he has interest to flourish tourism of his own country. He is trying to render to best services here at friendly state of Tripura.
He informed that the people of Agartala are given one stop services without any hassle. We issue them visa very easily so that we can also get services.
Most of the people of Tripura speak in Bengali language lie us and they have relatives in Bangladesh. If not they were born in Bangladesh. These matters help lot to improve relations with Bangladesh, he thinks.
Most people come here through Akhaura border but the situation at Akhaura border is not good, he told. There is lot of behavioral difference Indian immigration and Bangladesh immigration which is hazardous, he told.
Regarding train ticket he informed that if online ticket is introduced once then the foreign tourists and the Bangladeshis living abroad will be very convenient.
This tourism lover officer told that if we can project our country to the foreigners particularly the nationals of Seven Sisters then our tourist spots like Cox’s Bazar sea beach, the Sundarbans, Kuakata, Bandarban will be more popular. Besides, there are many holy places where the Indian tourists can visit.
He told that the communication between Tripura and Dhaka is good then Cox’s Bazar will be convenient and cheap for the tourists of Tripura.
It is very easy for the people of Tripura to get the visa here. We usually give the senior citizens long time multiple visa. Last year we issued 70 to 80 visas daily, he informed.
Shakhawat Hossain informed that our government is planning to upgrade this office as the office of Deputy Commission. Work is going on in this line. The relation with the people of Tripura is different with us and that relation is being strengthened.
