DHAKA: The ruling Awami League is mulling to declare the nomination for 300 constituencies by October 24 for the next parliamentary election however the main opposition BNP takes part or doesn’t.
Reliable sources said that the party is dealing heart and soul to finalize the nomination list of 300 candidates.
One of the presidium members of Awami League said that they are trying to finalize the name of nominees and make public it by October 26.
Another presidium member with anonymity that the list is being ready by the choice of root level leaders and then the list will be filtered and sort out after a district level leaders’ meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Awami League.
To finalize the candidacy of the MP aspirants, Awami League emphasized on opinion of local leaders and output of the surveys conducted by government and Non-government organizations.
Moreover, the party has already taken the feedback from 72 district leaders out of 73 organisational districts.
The premier of the country Sheikh Hasina, also the president of the party will again sit with the local leaders shortly in this regard if necessary, the party sources added.
