DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country`s bourses on Tuesday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, rose over 101 points to stand at 4,381 at the close on the third trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 189,254 with transaction at Tk 7,879 million. Of the issues traded, 223 advanced, 57 declined and eight remained unchanged.

PTL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 357 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were GENNEXT, MPETROLEUM, SQURPHARMA, GP, PADMAOIL, UCBL, JAMUNAOIL, BEXIMCO and BENGALWTL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8,573 by gaining over 202 points.

Out of the issues traded, 170 gained, 38 declined and 16 remained unchanged.
