DHAKA: Customs officials seized 20 pieces of gold bars worth Tk over 1-crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city on Thursday afternoon.

Moreover, a passenger Abdul Qadir has been detained in this connection.

Confirming the matter customs intelligence agency director general (DG) Dr Moinul Khan told the media that the detainee Abdul Qadir was coming from Riyadh.

The gold bars were seized from Qadir’s possession after searching his bags, the DG added.
