DHAKA: Grameenphone Employees union (GPEU) has been honored with the “Best Organizing Award” from UNI Global Professional & Managers’ group for achieving union growth & advancing members’ right. 

The declaration of the recognition came from a seminar held from March 9-11 in Istanbul, Turkey, arranged by UNI professional & Managers’ Group.

GPEU was formed in 2012 in protest against illegal job cut by Grameenphone management. 

Although this Unions’ application for registration is pending in court, union leaders are struggling to establish its members’ right & have achieved many of their targets till now. 

In 2013, GPEU received another international award – UNI Global FREEDOM FROM FEAR- 2013.
