DHAKA: Ahead of city corporation elections, the central bank directed all scheduled banks to keep their branches in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) areas open on Friday (March 27) and Saturday (March 28), two public holidays.


Bangladesh Bank (BB) general manager AFM Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

BB issued an order for the sake of election candidates to deposit security money, treasury, pay order and also to collect bank receipts.

The order has been sent to all chief executive officers of the banks requesting to beef up security measures in the areas.
