DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday, the last trading day of the week as Thursday is national holiday marking the Independence Day.

DSEX, the Broad Index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, rose over 15.89 points to stand at 4509.30 at the close day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 95309 with transaction at Tk 3507.97 million. Of the issues traded, 135 advanced, 142 declined and 37 remained unchanged.

ACI topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 264.10 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were GP, SHASHADNIM, ACIFORMULA, LAFSURCEML, SQURPHARMA, ZAHEENSPIN, SPCL, PHARMAID and MJLBD.
 
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8338.35 by gaining over 26.18 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 85 gained, 113 declined and 25 remained unchanged.
