DHAKA: Trading on the country’s two bourses--Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) --is underway with downward trend of share-price indices on Wednesday.

DSEX, the Broad Index DSE, shed over 49.01 points to stand at 4296.01 at 12:05 pm.

Trade deals stood at 38360 with volume of transactions at Tk 1353.23 million.

Of the issues traded, 40 advanced, 224 declined and 19 remained unchanged.

UPGDCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 228.41 million having changed hands.

Following the suit, the Chittagong Stock Exchange Selective Categories Index (CSCX) climbed down to 8013.61 by dropping over 79.32 points at about 12:03pm.

Out of the issues traded, 22 gained, 137 declined and 10 remained unchanged.
