DHAKA: The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday gave its approval of 10 development projects, including a 370-meter flyover at Mohipal in Feni.

Chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the ECNEC meeting was held at NEC Conference Room in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

The committee made the approval of 10 projects worth of Tk 1,910.28-crore, of which government will provide Tk 1,795.82-crore while the rest will come from the funds of respective organizations.

However, the cost of 370-meter and six-lane flyover at Mohipal was estimated at Tk 158-crore. It is expected to open the flyover in June of 2018.

After the meeting, planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said at a press conference that the committee also gave final approval to Khan Jahan Ali Airport in Bagerhat.

Tourism industry will be expanded centering the Sunderbans, Shat Gombuj Mosque and the shrine of Khan Jahan Ali after the completion of the proposed airport, the planning minister opined.
