DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) --on Wednesday.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, rose over 75.51 points to stand at 4089.88 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 101831 with transaction at Tk 3648.46 million. Of the issues traded, 261 advanced, 37 declined and 13 remained unchanged.

UPGDCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 288.59 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were ACIFORMULA, SPCL, ACI, MJLBD, IFADAUTOS, RAKCERAMIC, SQURPHARMA, WMSHIPYARD and SAIFPOWER.
 
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 7660.63 by gaining over 149.68 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 190 gained, 23 declined and 20 remained unchanged.
