DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) on Wednesday.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, rose over 16.04 points to stand at 4342.66 at the close on the fourth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 1,51,082 with transaction at Tk 6379.06 million. Of the issues traded, 171 advanced, 115 declined and 21 remained unchanged.

UPGDCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 392.39 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were WMSHIPYARD, NBL, MJLBD, KPCL, BSCCL, BEXIMCO, IFADAUTOS, SAIFPOWER and RAKCERAMIC.
 
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8178.05 by gaining over 40.83 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 144 gained, 98 declined and seven remained unchanged.
