DHAKA: Ataur Rahman Prodhan took the office of the deputy managing director (DMD) of Sonali Bank Limited on Tuesday.
 
Prior to his joining as DMD, Ataur served as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Sonali Bank (UK) Limited, a subsidiary of the bank, in 2012.

Later, he was promoted to DMD from general manger in 2014.

Ataur started his banking career as financial analyst in Sonali Bank in 1984. The DMD holds an M.Com degree in Management from Dhaka University and a Diploma Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh.
