DHAKA: Per capita income of the people of Bangladesh is now 1,314 USD.

Planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday disclosed the matter to journalists after a meeting at NEC Bhaban in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

He further said the amount was fixed after calculating the rate of increase of Gross Domestic Products (GDP) as 6.51 percent in the 2014-15FY.

Planning minister also said the economy of the country was moving forward.

“We are on the 58th place in the overall evaluation of economic activities,” he added.

Kamal also said the size of Bangladesh’s economy is estimated around 200 billion USD.
