DHAKA: Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved eight projects worth of Tk 1,576-crore at a meeting on Tuesday.

The meeting, with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as chair, was held at NEC Conference Centre in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

Planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal informed the media after the meeting.

He said government will provide Tk 1,060.82-crore while respective offices will finance rest of the money to implement the eight projects.

The projects include a multistory BSCIC building in city’s Karwan Bazar area and police super’s offices in 50 circles across the country, the minister added.
