DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Monday, the second trading day of the week.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, rose over 24.19 points to stand at 4477.55 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 83483 with transaction at Tk 3186.85 million.

Of the issues traded, 189 advanced, 86 declined and 36 remained unchanged.

UNITEDAIR topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 154.24 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were HEIDELBCEM, KPCL, GP, FARCHEM, SUMITPOWER, BEXIMCO, FAMILYTEX, UPGDCL and RAKCERAMIC.
 
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8380.19 by gaining over 46.41 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 110 gained, 64 declined and 48 remained unchanged.
