DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has joined social media to disseminate the information of the central bank.

Three accounts have been introduced in Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

BB governor Atiur Rahman inaugurated the program under the title of ‘Bangladesh Bank Social Media Communication Gateway’ at the bank’s Jahangir Alam Conference Hall Monday noon.

Moreover, the governor tweeted from BB Governor Twitter account saying, ‘Hello, Atiur Rahman here, officially on twitter now. This is a strategic move towards greater communication and inclusion’. (Sic)

At the inaugural ceremony, Atiur said the social media has been proved as the best way of modern communication.

‘People can complain to the central bank as well as get solution and also other information of the bank’s activities through the social media from now on,’ he added.

Moreover, deputy governor Abul Kashem and another deputy governor SK Sur Chowdhury inaugurated Youtube and Facebook accounts by uploading a video clip and putting a Facebook status respectively.
