DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Sunday.

DSEX, the key index of DSE, rose over 9.71 points to stand at 4802.02 at the close on the first trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 163463 with transaction at Tk 8065.32 million. Of the issues traded, 141 advanced, 149 declined and 29 remained unchanged.

LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 297.80 million having changed hands.



The other turnover leaders were KPCL, BXPHARMA, DESCO, FARCHEM, SHASHADNIM, GP, BSRMLTD, BSRMSTEEL     and OAL.
 
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8977.99 by gaining over 18.40 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 100 gained, 133 declined and 28 remained unchanged.
