DHAKA: The World Bank will provide Tk 16,000-crore as loan and donation for 11 projects in 2015-16 fiscal year.

An agreement signing ceremony is scheduled to be held at NEC Conference Room in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on Wednesday.

Economic Relations Division (ERD) senior secretary Mohammad Mezbahuddin and World Bank country director Johannes Zutt will represent their respective sides in signing the agreement on the day.

ERD sources said that the money will be sent in the projects including of regional connectivity, river embankment protection, skill development, power plant construction and health sector expansion.

The money will also be spent for modernization of weather forecast system and development of slum people.

ERD additional secretary Kazi Shafiqul Azam told banglanews that ministries and departments concerned to the projects are informed to join the meeting on the day.
