DHAKA: Thailand’s outgoing ambassador Madurapochana Ittarong expressed her country’s interest in Bangladesh petroleum sector and gas exploration.

She came to this assertion while made a courtesy call to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday.

The PM praised Madurapochana’s contribution for existing cordial relations between the two countries.

PM’s press secretary Ehsanul Karim briefed the media after the meeting and said the ambassador thanked Sheikh Hasina for her government’s cooperation while she was serving in the country.

The premier also remembered Thailand government’s assistance to extradite the killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The outgoing ambassador also invited prime minister to visit Thailand.

Accepting the invitation, the PM promised that she will visit the country in a convenient time.
