DHAKA: Over Tk 223-crore was collected from the income tax fair across the country on Friday, the third day of weeklong event.

National Board of Revenue (NBR) public relations officer Syed A Mumen informed the matter to the media.

According to him, as many as 119,873 taxpayers received services from the fairground while 18,106 taxpayers submitted their respective tax return.

In three days, over Tk 903-crore was collected from the income tax fair across the country, including the capital city.

Earlier on Wednesday, industries minister Amir Hossain Amu inaugurated the fair on Officers’ Club premises in city.

The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 5:00pm till September 22. But, Saturday’s time of the fair has been extend for three hours.

Last three days of the weeklong event (Sept 20-22) will remain open following pre-scheduled time.

Earlier on September 15, national income tax day was marked with elaborate programs across the country.
