DHAKA: Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader on Wednesday disclosed that the toll of all larger bridges will be collected on online to avert theft.

The minister came up with the assertions in a meeting with ministry officials at the secretariat in city.

He further said government is getting Tk 30-35 lakhs more per month from the bridges on Meghna and Gomati rivers as it started collecting tolls on online.

Mentioning that most of the OS Scale machines in the country are damaged, Quader alleged that those were destroyed to loot the collection of toll.

He also asked the additional secretary Faruq Jalil to inform about the condition of all OS Scale machines in the country.

The minister also issued directives to avoid unnecessary delay in passing files.
