DHAKA: IFAD Autos Ltd, country’s one of the leading motor vehicle body manufacturers, is going to build bodies for air suspension air-conditioned (AC) and non-AC buses of Ashok Leyland.

IFAD Group chairman Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu informed the matter at a opening ceremony of Ifad AC Luxury and Corporate bus  at Bangabandhu International  Conference Center  on Thursday.

Tipu said an assembly plant is being set up for environment-friendly AC and non-AC buses of Ashok Leyland, an Indian automobile manufacturing company, in Dhamrai of Dhaka.

From next year, luxuries buses will be build there, he hoped.

He also hopes to ship 1,000 vehicles in Bangladesh market annually from the assembly plant.

Ashok Leyland senior vice president Balachandaran Venkat Subramaniam was also present at the ceremony.
