RMG workers help Bangladesh make dev country

ASHULIA (DHAKA): The visiting Swedish deputy minister for employment Irene Wennemo on Monday remarked the readymade garments (RMG) workers of Bangladesh are industrious and efficient to turn the country into a developed one if they were given proper opportunities.

The deputy minister came up with the remarks after visiting a training center for RMG workers built by Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and International Labour Organization (ILO) at Ashulia, at the outskirt of Dhaka.

During the visit, she talked to the workers.

Irene Wennemo also assured to provide all possible assistance to Bangladesh.

Swedish ambassador to Bangladesh John Freshel, BGMEA president Siddiqur Rahman and its former presidents Atiqul Islam and M Shafiul Islam, among others, were present at the event.
