Bourses witness deflation Thursday

DHAKA: Investors observed fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday (February 25), the last trading day of the week.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 11.96 points or 0.26 percent to stand at 4567.56 at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 109262 with volume of transactions at Tk 4597.93 million.

Of the issues traded, 131 advanced, 148 declined and 50 remained unchanged.

LANKABAFIN topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 455.53 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were QSMDRYCELL, UPGDCL, Singer Bangladesh, BSRMLTD, Beximco Pharma, Square Pharma, LAFSURCEML, SHASHADNIM and UCB.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8573.22 by dropping over 35.77 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 97 gained, 112 declined and 36 remained unchanged with a total turnover amount of over Tk 346.18 million at the end of day’s trading.
