DHAKA: Eastern Bank Ltd (EBL) has launched a mobile application for banking services titled ‘EBL Skybanking’ for both EBL and non-EBL customers.

The mobile App, first of its kind in Bangladesh, will help the users to do fund transfer, bills payment, to receive information about account, loan, card, ATM and branch locations and various customer benefit programs of the bank.

EBL Managing Director & CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar launched the application at a ceremony held at a city hotel Sunday (December 20), said a press release.

‘Eastern Bank Ltd is proud to be the first bank in Bangladesh to launch a comprehensive banking App for our customers. We are sure this will help them manage their time and banking efficiently.’

‘EBL will continue to innovate and bring in exciting products and services to the market to make everyone’s banking transaction – simple,’ said Ali Reza Iftekhar.

According to the release, EBL Skybanking App is now available for download at Google Playstore for android phones and tabs.

The Apple and Windows versions will be available soon, the release added.

The App can be used by anyone with a smartphone for locating EBL ATMs, branches, product and service information. But to get additional services like fund transfer, bill payment, account/loan/card information, mobile phone top-up, EBL ZIP and Benefit Partner Information, Positive Pay Instruction, Meet & Greet and other service requests, making appointments etc. one will have to register at any of EBL branches.

EBL Skybanking App has been designed keeping customer security in mind. It ensures security by binding the IMEI number of the mobile phone with the App, apart from the unique user ID and password.

A single user can add a maximum of 3 devices. Moreover, One Time Password or OTP will be required to perform transactions like fund transfer through the App.

Based on customer experience and feedback EBL will keep on updating the App by adding new services and features and make it available to the users.
