Market ends negatively Wednesday

DHAKA: After three days of positive trend, trading in the country’s two bourses ended negatively on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), decreased 17.76 points or 0.38 percent than Tuesday, to stand at 4573.33 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 106342 with transaction at Tk4146.27 million.

Of the issues traded, 76 advanced, 213 declined and 35 remained unchanged on the day.

CITYBANK topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk318.87 million having changed hands during the time.

Other toppers in the market were SQUAREPHARMA, ACI, OLYMPIC, BXPHARMA, SPCL, ITC, APEXFOODS, UPGDCL and ALLTEX.

Chittagong stocks also followed the trends with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbed down to 8561.84 by dropping over 29.97 points than Tuesday.

Out of the issues traded, 55 gained, 153 declined and 40 remained unchanged.
