DHAKA: The newly appointed British high commissioner Alison Blake said that people of her country is keeninterested to increase its business periphery in Bangladesh.
The envoy made this assertion while paying a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at PMO in city on Sunday (February 7).
"British businesspeople are interested to expand and increase business in Bangladesh," the high commissioner said.
Prime Minister's press secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed the journalists after the meeting.
According to the press secretary, the British businesspeople are interested to invest especially in energy sector.
The high commissioner said that UK government’s cooperation will continue in Bangladesh development sectors.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister welcomed the new high commissioner and assured her all sorts of assistance during her tenure.
Prime Minister also expressed satisfaction over the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UK.
They also hoped that the relations will be stronger in future.
