DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has instructed the scheduled banks to install anti-skimming device at ATM booths within one month to stop any sort of forgery.

The central bank’s payment system department issued a circular (DSD circular no 01/2016) on Monday (February 15).

According to the circular, the managing directors or chief executive officers (CEOs) of all scheduled banks in the country are asked to install card skimming and PIN capture devices for safe transaction of money at Automated Teller Machine (ATM) booths.

However, the circular has been issued following several incidents of card forgery at ATM booths in recent time.
