Stocks witness fall Wednesday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week, as Sunday was holiday for Amar Ekushey.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 18.81 points only to stand at 4579.52 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 115319 with volume of transactions at Tk 4851.46 million.

Of the issues traded, 110 advanced, 160 declined and 52 remained unchanged.

BSRMLTD topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 280.22 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were LANKABAFIN, UCB, LAFSURCEML, IFADAUTOS, SQURPHARMA, CMCKAMAL, UPGDCL, SINGERBD and ONEBANKLTD.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8608.99 by dropping over 42.65 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 84 gained, 136 declined and 21remained unchanged.
