Stocks fall for fourth straight day

DHAKA: Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday for fourth day in a row.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 21.86 points only to stand at 4462.17 at the close on the fourth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 116960 with volume of transactions at Tk 5784.39 million.

Of the issues traded, 104 advanced, 106 declined and 44 remained unchanged.

ORIONPHARM topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 298.07 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were LANKABAFIN, SINGERBD, GP, SUMITPOWER, BXPHARMA, IFADAUTOS, UPGDCL, SQURPHARMA     and QSMDRYCELL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8369.04 by dropping over 43.22 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 68 gained, 136 declined and 30 remained unchanged.
