DHAKA: M Abul Kashem will discharge duty as interim governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) following the resignation of Dr Atiur Rahman as governor amid criticism over the bank’s reserve heist from US Federal Bank.

Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) press wing sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.

However, Abul Kashem is the number-1 deputy governor of the central bank of Bangladesh.
