DHAKA: Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said that former finance secretary Fazle Kabir will be appointed as new governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB).

He revealed the information at secretariat in city while talking to reporters on Tuesday (March 15).

Sources said Fazle Kabir is discharging duty as the chairman of state-run Sonali Bank. Now, he is staying in Washington.

After returning home on March 18, he will take charge as the BB governor.
