DHAKA: State minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid said that the first phase of fuel price reduction will be announced by seven days.

The state minister confirmed the matter to banglanews on Monday (April 4).

According to him, the government is thinking to reduce fuel price from Tk 6 to Tk 10 in three phases.

Earlier on January 4, 2013, the fuel prices in country were increased following the hike in international market.

Later, the price of crude oil downed to 40 dollars per barrel. Then, the government-owned Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) decided to recover its previous losses and monitor the international market in regarding to reduce fuel price at home.

Following the demands from consumers, the government assured them that the fuel price will be adjusted with the international market.
