Bourses see mixed Wednesday

DHAKA: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed gain in share prices indices while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed loss on Wednesday (April 20), the fourth trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 1.76 points or 0.04 percent to stand at 4359.39 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 108,032 with transaction at over Tk 4340.28 million. Of the issues traded, 104 advanced, 178 declined and 35 remained unchanged.

MJL Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 222.89 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd., ACI Limited, LankaBangla Finance ltd., The IBN Sina, Aman Feed Limited, Beximco Pharmaceuticals, Jamuna Oil Company Limited, BSRM Limited and Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), however, lost points in trading, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 9.12 points to stand at 8136.23.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 73 gained, 142 declined and 26 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 284.53 million.
