DHAKA: City Bank is now empowered to set new global standards in bank-card safety as it has recently earned ‘PCI DSS’ certification from ControlCase, a US-based security company.

The document of certification was handed over to City Bank’s additional managing director Mashrur Arefin by ControlCase Chief Operating Officer (COO) Suresh Dadlani at a ceremony held in City Bank head office in Dhaka, said a press release issued by its public relations head Yeahia Mirza on Tuesday (May 17).

‘PCI DSS’ is a worldwide standard that aids in securely setting up the process of card businesses and payments with the prime purpose of reducing card fraud activities, the release added.

It further said this certification ensures that the sensitive cardholders’ data is under the highest protection in City Bank system among other things.

Kazi Azizur Rahman, Chief Information Officer, City Bank and Maruf Alam, Managing Director, Cynergon Intelisys Ltd. and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
