Bourses see gain Sunday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Sunday (May 29), the first trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gain over 38.77 points or 0.88 percent to stand at 4426.78 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 113,678 with transaction at over Tk 4279.68 million. Of the issues traded, 162 advanced, 92 declined and 64 remained unchanged.

Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 324.99 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd, United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd, United Airways (BD) Ltd, Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited, MJL Bangladesh Limited, Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries Limited, Keya Cosmetics, Aman Feed Limited and Bengal Windsor Thermoplastics Ltd.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 65.77 points to stand at 8291.42 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 132 gained, 72 declined and 29 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 298.26 million.
