Pakistan band ‘Jal’ to perform in Dhaka after 14 years

Popular music band “Jal” is coming to Dhaka after 14 years. The Pakistani pop rock band will perform in a concert titled “Legends of the Decade” at Dhaka Arena, Purbachal 300 feet Expressway in the capital on 27 September.

Earlier, the band came to Dhaka in 2010. After that, they were not seen in any concert in Bangladesh in the last 14 years.   

The concert has been organised by Assen, Xirconium and Rootover. Ticket sales have already started on the Get Set Rock website. The ticket price has been fixed at Tk 3,050.  

Ananda Chowdhury, founder and CEO of Assen, said, “The popularity of Jal bands is not only in Bangladesh but also internationally. Besides the audience, we are also happy to bring the band to Bangladesh after 14 years. I hope the audience will be able to enjoy a wonderful concert.”

He further said, “Already the sale of advance tickets for the concert has started. Ticket sales are getting a good response.”

Pop rock band Jal was founded in 2002 in Lahore, Pakistan by Goher Mumtaz. Later Atif Aslam joined the band. The band came to the limelight with the release of their song “Aadat” in 2004. Their popular songs include “Oh Lamhe”, “Aadat”, “Paanchi”, and “Bikhra Hoon Main”.

The band also appeared in Coke Studio (Pakistan) and Pepsi Battle of the Bands. The current members of the band are Goher Mumtaz, Amir Azhar, Ali Khan and Salman Albert.
