Dengue fever claimed another life in the 24 hours leading up to Saturday (April 5) morning, raising the country’s death toll to 14 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest fatality was reported from the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), the DGHS confirmed in its regular update.
Along with the death, 10 more people were hospitalized across the country, bringing the total number of cases to 1,902.
Of the new cases, five were from Barishal Division, outside the city corporation areas, three from Dhaka North City Corporation, one from DSCC, and one from a non-city area in Khulna Division.
Currently, 62 dengue patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals nationwide.
Last year, Bangladesh faced a severe dengue outbreak, with 575 deaths and over 101,000 cases reported.
