A dengue patient died and nine others were hospitalised across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the new cases, 7 were reported in Dhaka city, one in Khulna, and one in Dhaka division.

With these, the total number of dengue cases this year has reached 2,429, with 19 deaths. 

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214 while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported, the statement said.
