One more person died from dengue in 24 hours till yesterday morning, raising this year’s official death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 41, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During this time, 262 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, bringing the total number of reported cases in 2025 to 9,484 so far.
Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives.
In 2023, Bangladesh saw its worst dengue outbreak on record, with 1,705 deaths and more than 321,000 cases, according to DGHS data.
