The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh has donated anti-dengue supplies to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) as part of continued cooperation between the two countries in the health sector.
Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, Dr. Liu Yuyin, handed over the supplies during a ceremony held on Wednesday.
Professor Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, Hon’ble Special Assistant to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Jafor, Director General of DGHS, were also present.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Liu said China and Bangladesh are “good neighbors, good friends and good partners.” He said this donation is a practical step to implement the important understanding reached between the top leaderships of the two countries.
“China will continue to support Bangladesh’s health sector development,” he said, expressing hope that both countries will deepen their collaboration to help build a shared future in global health.
Professor Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman thanked the Chinese government, saying China has always been a reliable development partner. He noted that the anti-dengue supplies will help reduce the country’s dengue burden and support ongoing prevention and control efforts.
He also expressed hope that Bangladesh and China will continue to strengthen cooperation in the health sector and beyond, benefiting more people on both sides.
