Two Dengue patients died and 395 newly admitted to hospitals across the country in 24 hours, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The press release was issued on Monday (August 4).
Of the newly hospitalised patients, 58 were from areas outside Barishal City Corporation, 61 from areas outside Chattogram City Corporation, 69 from areas outside Dhaka City Corporation, 34 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 50 from Dhaka South City Corporation, six from areas outside Mymensingh City Corporation, 48 from areas outside Rajshahi City Corporation, nine from areas outside Rangpur City Corporation, and four from areas outside Sylhet City Corporation.
During the same 24-hour period, 493 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. So far this year, 20,744 patients have recovered and been released from healthcare facilities.
A total of 22,065 people have been infected with dengue this year. Among them, 58.7 percent are male and 41.3 percent female.
The two most recent fatalities included one patient from Chattogram Division and another from Barishal Division. With these deaths, the country’s dengue death toll in 2025 has risen to 86.
According to the DGHS, between 1 January and 31 December 2024, a total of 101,214 dengue cases were recorded across the country, with 575 confirmed deaths.
In comparison, 2023 saw a total of 321,179 hospitalisations and 1,705 dengue-related deaths between 1 January and 31 December.
