Three more people have died from dengue in the last 24 hours while 408 new patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A press release was issued on Thursday (August 7) DGHS.
According to DGHS, 73 were from areas outside Barishal City Corporation, 58 from outside Chattogram City Corporation, 59 from outside Dhaka City Corporation, 37 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 57 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 37 from outside Khulna City Corporation, 25 from outside Mymensingh City Corporation, 52 from outside Rajshahi City Corporation, 7 from outside Rangpur City Corporation, and 3 from outside Sylhet City Corporation.
During the same period, 338 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery. So far this year, a total of 21,799 dengue patients have recovered and been released from hospitals.
As of 7 August 2025, the total number of dengue cases across the country stands at 23,220. Of them, 58.8 percent are male and 41.2 percent female, the DGHS reported.
Of the three people who died in the past 24 hours, one was a resident of Dhaka North City Corporation and two were from Dhaka South City Corporation. With these, the total number of dengue-related deaths this year has reached 95.
According to DGHS data, 101,214 people were infected with dengue in 2024, of whom 575 died.
In the previous year, from 1 January to 31 December 2023, dengue claimed 1,705 lives, with 321,179 hospitalisations recorded across the country.
