The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has said that no new COVID-19 infections were reported in the country over the 24-hour period from 8 am Thursday to 8 am Friday.

A total of six samples were tested during this period, yielding a positivity rate of 0 percent, according to a DGHS statement.

No COVID-19-related deaths were reported, keeping the country’s cumulative death toll at 29,531 since the pandemic began in 2020.

Bangladesh detected its first coronavirus case on March 8, 2020, and reported its first death from the virus ten days later, on March 18.
