Health authorities today reported 364 new dengue cases and two more deaths across the country in the past 24 hours.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), of the fresh cases, 49 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 76 in Chattogram division, 50 in Dhaka division (outside the capital), 58 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 73 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 20 in Mymensingh division, and 38 in Khulna division.
With the latest figures, the total number of dengue infections this year has risen to 3,33,831, while the death toll has reached 132, the DGHS statement said.
By comparison, last year the mosquito-borne disease claimed 575 lives and infected 1,01,214 people across Bangladesh.
