The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today confirmed that no new Covid-19 infections were detected in the country over the 24 hours between 8 am Wednesday and 8 am Thursday.

According to a DGHS statement, nine samples were tested during this period, yielding a positivity rate of 0 percent. No deaths linked to Covid-19 were also reported.

Since the beginning of this year, 15,652 samples have been tested, of which 730 individuals were found positive. Among them, 32 patients have died.

The cumulative death toll from Covid-19 since the outbreak began in 2020 stands at 29,531.

The country reported its first coronavirus case on March 8, 2020, followed by the first virus-related death on March 18 of the same year.
