DHAKA: A huge fire broke out on Thursday afternoon at a plastic manufacturing factory in Sharjah.
Civil Defence rushed to battle the flames after receiving a report at 2.40pm.
Officials were still at the scene late into the afternoon, reports gulfnews.com.
The factory, in the industrial area of Sharjah, was used for manufacturing and storage of plastic, Brigadier Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Sharjah Civil Defence, said.
Sharjah Police formed units to close down all roads leading to the location of the fire, which allowed firefighters, ambulances and water tankers to enter the area without obstruction, which allowed them to get the fire under control quickly.
