DHAKA: A US drone strike targeted a house in Pakistan’s restive north Waziristan tribal region killing at least four suspected militants.
Local officials said the drone attack took place late on Wednesday night and targeted a house in Qutab Khel village, five kilometres from Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan, reports The Times of India.
The area is a stronghold for Taliban and al-Qaida-linked militants.
The identities of those killed in the strike were not immediately known but officials suspect that they were of Afghan origin.
Pakistani government criticises drone strikes as a violation of its sovereignty and counterproductive to anti-terror efforts.
Nato supply routes continue to remain blocked in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province due to protests over strikes from the CIA-operated spy planes.
