DHAKA: A female suicide bomber set off a blast on Sunday in a train station in the southern Russian city of Volgograd that killed at least 18 people.

News reports and officials said, according to The Straits Times.

A National Anti-Terror Committee official told the RIA Novosti news agency that the blast was set off by a female suicide bomber.

An Investigative Committee spokesman told Interfax that at least 18 people were killed and 40 others injured.
